To access the car park you have to use Meadow Lane, which is off the main A6 London Road, half a mile towards Alvaston from the Pride Park/Ascot Drive roundabout.
The Alvaston buses (1 and 1A) from the city centre stop outside the pedestrian entrance to the park (outside Lakeside School).
The cycle path along the river is part of Route 6 of the National Cycle Network. From the city centre it leads out to Elvaston Castle, and also along the old Derby canal towards Chellaston.
