Canal Bridge Mural

The new mural under the Navigation Canal Bridge is now complete! The woks has gone extremely well and thanks are due to the main 'artists' Rachel, Charlotte, Sarah and Mike. We are also indebted to the volunteers from YMCA, Rolls-Royce Submarines, and the pupils at Lakeside School for their help. Thanks also go to Bells Group who started off the proceedings by removing all the old paint, and to Dulux and Wickes who helped with paint, brushes and buckets. The sealant, which was the final coat and offers some protection to the mural, was kindly funded by Derby Homes and Structures. A massive donation of £1000 was given to the project by Arnold Clarke Group and this has covered the cost of the paint - many thanks to the Group for this generous donation. Do make a point of walking along the old canal path and have a good look at this fresh new mural. One side of the bridge shows the canal and park whilst the opposite side has brightly coloured mandalas and insects. Below are some pictures as the work was being carried out - make sure to go and see the mural for real!
